Water temperature data from 1990â2013 were collected or reconstructed for buoy sites in the western Gulf of Mexico, Yucatan channel, and eastern Caribbean Sea. These data were then used in calculations to project average annual water temperature and average growth rates for three Caribbean Gambierdiscus species (G. caribaeus, G. belizeanus, G. carolinianus) for the period 2014â2099.
