TOPEX/POSEIDON Altimeter Sea Surface Height Anomaly

This dataset contains Sea Surface Height Anomalies (SSHA) calculated from the TOPEX/Poseidon Merged Geophysical Data Record version b (MGDR-b). The files contain Significant Wave Height (SWH), Total Electron Count (TEC) and SSHA. The data have been edited so land and bad/flagged values are removed, therefore this dataset is intended only for open ocean. If you need values closer to land you will need to calculate SSHA yourself from the MGDR-b. The calculation and editing can be found at ftp://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/allData/topex/L2/tp_ssha/docs/tpssha_manual_v2.html. The data are in binary format and available from January 1993 to October 2005.
