Jason-1 Geophysical Data Record (GDR) Sea Surface Height Anomaly (SSHA) NetCDF

These Sea Surface Height Anomalies (SSHA) are derived from the Jason-1 Geophysical Data Record (GDR). Jason-1 is an altimetric mission whose instruments make direct observations of the following quantities: altimeter range, significant wave height, ocean radar backscatter cross-section (a measure of wind speed), ionospheric electron content (derived by a simple formula), tropospheric water content, and position relative to the GPS satellite constellation. Using the various parameter the SSHA can be calculated and are provided in this dataset. The data are in NetCDF format. This is not the official dataset from the project and therefore not vetted. If you require a vetted product you will need to calculate SSHA from the GDR product which can be found at ftp://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/allData/jason1/L2/gdr_c/. The documentation has the calculation for SSHA and can be found at ftp://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov/allData/jason1/L2/gdr_c/docs/Handbook_Jason_v4-1.pdf.
