Identical meteorological towers were located close to the four corners of nine 1 km x 1 km Intensive Study Areas (ISAs). At each site, measurements of air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and wind direction were made at 2 m (North Park) or 4 m (Frasier and Buffalo Pass) above ground level. Snow depth, soil moisture, and soil temperatures were also measured. Hourly meteorological observations were recorded between 20 September 2002 and 1 October 2003, although data were not necessarily continuous throughout this time period for all towers. The NASA CLPX is a multi-sensor, multi-scale experiment that focuses on extending a local-scale understanding of water fluxes, storage, and transformations to regional and global scales. Within a framework of nested study areas in the central Rocky Mountains of the western United States, ranging from 1-ha to 160,000 km^2, intensive ground, airborne, and spaceborne observations are collected. Data collection focuses on two seasons: mid-winter, when conditions are generally frozen and dry; and early spring, a transitional period when both frozen and thawed, dry and wet conditions are widespread."^^xsd:string; ## Dates of dataset release and access dcterms:issued "2005-08-31T00:00:00"^^xsd:dateTime; ## Spatial and temporal information: dcterms:spatial [ a dcterms:Location, gcis:SpatialExtent; gcis:northBoundLatitude "41"^^xsd:float; gcis:southBoundLatitude "39.5"^^xsd:float; gcis:eastBoundLongitude "-105"^^xsd:float; gcis:westBoundLongitude "-107.5"^^xsd:float; ] ; dcterms:temporal [ a dcterms:PeriodOfTime, gcis:TemporalExtent; gcis:startDate "2002-09-01T00:00:00"^^xsd:dateTime; gcis:endDate "2003-10-31T00:00:00"^^xsd:dateTime; ] ; ## Attributes and keywords ## Instrument Instances a gcis:Dataset . ## This entity was produced by an organization: <http://52.38.26.42:8080/dataset/nasa-nsidcdaac-0173> prov:qualifiedAttribution [ a prov:Attribution; prov:agent <http://52.38.26.42:8080/organization/national-snow-ice-data-center-distributed-active-archive-center>; prov:hadRole <http://52.38.26.42:8080/role_type/data_archive>; ] . ## Also known as: <http://52.38.26.42:8080/dataset/nasa-nsidcdaac-0173> skos:altLabel "oai:nsidc/NSIDC-0173"; gcis:hasURL "http://nsidc.org/api/dataset/2/oai?verb=GetRecord&metadataPrefix=dif&identifier=oai:nsidc/NSIDC-0173"; skos:exactMatch <http://52.38.26.42:8080/lexicon/nsidc/dataset/oai:nsidc/NSIDC-0173> .
