Input: Two images from NASAâs MODIS Rapid Response System 1. http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/imagery/single.cgi?image=Canada.A2002188.1635.2km.jpg 2. http://lance-modis.eosdis.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/imagery/single.cgi?image=EastCoast.A2002188.1635.1km.jpg These two input images were subsetted and merged to generate this image - http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=9826. Further, the subsetted image was copied and a star placed to mark Baltimore, MD. Fire locations in Quebec were highlighted.

Notes : It is not used for drawing quantitative conclusions (any quantitative conclusions related to this figure come from other sources of information). The image in the figure is from NASAâs earthobservatory. While the earthobservatory website has been maintained by NASA GSFC for many years, it does not have a mandate for long-term archiving of its contents.
