The observed number of days with a maximum temperature greater than 90ºF for 1971-2000 was plotted for the northeast United States.
1. At each grid point, the number of days with a maximum temperature greater than 90ºF was calculated for each year (provided data were available for 95% of the days at that grid point). 2. At each grid point, the mean number of days with a maximum temperature greater than 90ºF was computed for the period 1971-2000. 3. Data were plotted for all grid points in the northeast United States.
The duration of this activity was 56 hours.
