Global temperature change (relative to 1901-1960) is plotted as a time series.

The mean temperature for the period 1951-1980 was added to the global average annual temperature anomalies to get the annual temperature time series. Anomalies were then calculated relative to a 1901-1960 reference period by subtracting the 1901-1960 mean temperature from the annual temperatures, and plotted as a time series from 1880 to 2012.
